This past weekend, Vincent and I went down to Austin for our last trip of the summer. Wash U sports start back up tomorrow, meaning that we will most likely not be able to escape St. Louis between now and May except for Christmas. Because of this, we took advantage of our last free weekend by surviving the scorching heat to visit Vincent’s brother, my cousins, and some friends from grad school.

Touring Austin:
Lake Travis was extremely low. Normally you wouldn't be able to see those "islands" in the center.
Apparently bikes like this aren't out of the ordinary.
Yes, that is a cat. On a leash. On a man's shoulders.
We were in Austin for their annual Bat Fest, which included Adam West and the Batmobile. Unfortunately we didn't see him, but we didn't miss the Batmobile!
I’m a Design Nerd:
I was very excited to see this project in person. Arthouse at the Jones Center was designed by one of my favorite architecture firms, LTL Architects (Lewis Tsurumaki Lewis).
Sunday we checked out the Austin Museum of Art’s exhibit on Herman Miller furniture. I was in heaven!
Words to live by.
The museum also featured work by local artists each using an Eames Chair as a canvas.
